JB's Pit Stall

Hi everyone, my name is JB and here is my second attempt at a web page. Since my first web page I have learned some more about webpages and I hope that this one is acceptable to everyone. If it isn't then I guess I won't be seeing you back here any time soon - too bad you will be missing out on some really cool stuff as I learn about more about web page design.
As you can probably guess by the title I am a huge fan of NASCAR and my favorite driver is Dale Jarrett - I do miss the red, white and blue car though. I also enjoy anything outdoors - walks on the beach, hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR races, picnics, hiking, you name it and I have either done it or plan on doing it. I am also into model trains but I don't get a lot of time to do much with them. I have a 10 year old son from a previous marriage and he is a lot like me. I have a girlfriend - at this moment anyway, we plan on getting married - and I call her My Lil Angel. I have a link to her website below if you would like to check it out. My Lil Angel got me interested in
and all of their wonder and history, but I have to admit I am not as crazy about them as she is. When we go to a lighthouse it gives us some time together and that makes everything worth while to me. I truly do love spending time with her. I also like most kinds of music but right now I am more into the 60's to 80's rock-n-roll.
My Lil Angel and I have plans to get to Bristol and Richmond for races, but those look like they will be put off for the near future. The reason for that is that we are trying to have a baby this year and we are saving our money for that.
I have been a fan of NASCAR since November of 1996, when I watched my first race with my Dad. In that race I can't even remember where DJ finished but it didn't matter I was hooked. I tuned in the following week to watch again and it was then that I picked the red, white and blue #88 car and DJ as my favorite. The rest, as they say, is history - I have been watching the races every chance I can get. I am always rooting for DJ and if I am in a room with someone that is a fan of another driver it makes the race that much better - depending on whose driver does better. My girlfriend is a fan of both Jeff Gordon EWWWWW!!!! and Rusty Wallace BIGGER EWWWWWW!!!!! so it is fun watching the races with her, that is until something happens to one of her drivers and then she gets all quiet and goes to do other stuff around the house. We both participate in the NFRL's (website listed later) pick 7. It is free and we do it for fun. I was sitting in front of the TV when DJ wrapped up the 1999 championship and you can bet I let my girlfriend know about it. I have some of DJ's diecast cars, a few hats, a jacket (it was a present from my girlfriend), and some decals and window clings. I still have a lot of stuff to collect and I am working on it. I do miss the red, white & blue car, but the new UPS colors are growing on me - especially since he won at Darlington on Sunday, March 18, 2001. Here is a pic of the red, white & blue car -
I have recently gone back to school to get my A+, Microsoft and Novell certifications. I now have my A+ certification and I am presently working on taking the other tests to get the Microsoft and Novell certifications. The A+ certification says that I am knowledgeable about the PC hardware and the operating system software - that doesn't include the application software like MS Word, Lotus, Excel, etc... I can take a PC apart and get it back together again and I can troubleshoot DOS and Windows problems. Yes, I am smart enough to solve some application software problems but if I haven't worked with it then the chances are slim that I could fix it. It would be like me asking you to explain the Theory of Relativity to me - sure you have heard of it but I bet the explanation would be rather difficult. The Novell certification will be in administration - that means that I could administer a Novell network, add users and groups and keep it running once the Network Operating System was up and running but I wouldn't be very successful at setting up the Operating System. That would make me a CNA - Certified Novell Administrator. The Microsoft certification - MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) will be on the Windows 2000 platform. With that certification I will be able to do everything for Windows 2000 from installing it to administering it to performance tuning. I am hoping to use these certifications to find a new job closer to my home. I travel 90 minutes one way to work right now.
